Recreation Assistant

Job Summary:

Adira at Riverside, a luxury rehabilitation facility, is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Recreation Assistant to join our team! As a Recreation Assistant, you will support our Recreation Therapy Department, helping our residents achieve physical, emotional, and social well-being through engaging activities and programs. If you have a passion for eldercare and want to enhance the lives of our residents, please apply!

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual recreation programs tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of our residents

  • Participate in facility-wide events, promoting socialization and community engagement

  • Document program attendance and participation to ensure accurate tracking and reporting

  • Adhere to care plans, safety guidelines, and ensure the well-being of our resident population

  • Encourage resident participation, socialization, and community engagement through varied activities and programs

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • 1-year previous experience in Nursing Home Recreation preferred

  • Therapeutic Recreation Certificate preferred but not required

  • Compassionate and positive attitude
