Job Description

The Manager, Restaurant Group Sales oversees the creation and delivery a world class food, beverage and entertainment experience for our Group Sales guests at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible to meet or exceed a yearly sales goal, while providing a luxury standard of service.
  • Responds to sales inquiries, initiates new sales, prospects and qualifies leads.
  • Solicit potential clients, entertain and conducts site visits.
  • Determines food & beverage minimums, prepares proposals and negotiates contracts.
  • Upsells menus items and creates memorable dining experiences.
  • Creates BEOS and distributes according to schedule.
  • Communicate with all other departments as they relate to the restaurant group sales to coordinate activities or correct problems.
  • Adheres to department policies and procedures to control costs while maintaining quality service.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting and managerial tasks in food and beverage and sales environment.
  • Maintains and monitors set standards of guest service.
  • Responsible for promoting the restaurants through marketing efforts.
  • Communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Maintains a professional, courteous and friendly demeanor with all Co-Stars and guests.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with management and Co-Stars.
  • Respond to common inquiries from other Co-Stars or guests.
  • Performs other business and professional activities as requested.
  • Adhere to PCI Compliance Standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned/required.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • At least two years' experience in Restaurant Management and/or Group Sales.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Tripleseat, Sevenrooms, Outlook and email.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage industry, including steps of service.
  • Extensive food, liquor & wine knowledge.
  • A true desire to be of service to others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in developing, leading and maintaining guest relations.
  • Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to understand questions and instructions from supervisors.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents.
  • Knowledge of general office skills.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to apply reasoning to variety of situations.
  • Minimum two years college required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 21 years of age.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a large, luxury resort environment.
  • Previous Casino/Hotel or high volume catering sales experience

  • Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the property in all locations.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.
  • A casino environment typically allows smoking.
  • Constant contact with executives, department management, applicants, employees and guests is necessary.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
  • Bending and reaching.
  • Transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Eye/hand coordination.
  • Use of standard office equipment.
  • Intermediate Math.
  • Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 5 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions.
