Café - Dishwasher - part-time

The Café Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. In addition, this position ensures the cleanliness of the Café kitchen, trash areas, outside dining area and kitchen equipment. This is a part-time onsite position at our Café in York Maine for 8 - 30 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clean, sanitize and restock pots, pans, silverware, glassware, plates, etc...

2. Assure dish area is supplied with the proper cleaning supplies (i.e., chemicals, garbage bags, etc.)

3. Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all dining areas

4. Maintain cleanliness of all garbage, recycle receptacles and bus stations

5. Assist in the general cleaning of kitchen equipment, floors and walls

6. Assist in the preparation of menu items (i.e., peel carrots, potatoes, onions)

Additional Responsibilities

1. Follow all company safety policies and procedures with regard to safety, quality, sanitation, personnel, maintenance and equipment, including food safety

2. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends on a regular basis and holidays

3. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education, Experience, and Skills

1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. Positive, upbeat, energetic manner with previous food/cleaning experience a plus

3. Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. on occasion, climb ladders, reach, squat, kneel, twist and stand for several hours a day
