Our brand new state-of-the-art Dermatology clinic opened in Spring 2022 and is conveniently located in the heart of New Westminster BC (walking distance to Sapperton Sky Train).
Expected Start Date: June 20, 2022
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Schedule: Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)
Salary Range: $20 - $23 per hour
We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant to support Spectrum Dermatology. You will support day-to-day operations by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service for patients. As an MOA, you will perform various tasks on a daily basis so it's important to be able to multitask and prioritize. We also expect you to handle sensitive information confidentially. If you are able to combine exceptional communication skills with an ability to perform behind the scenes tasks, we would love to meet you. Ultimately, you should be able to aid smooth operations by accurately completing administrative tasks in a timely manner.
- Introductory phone call
- On-site interview
- Reference check
- Use the electronic medical record (Telus Med Access) to record encounters and issue invoices.
- Update and maintain patients health records.
- Assist patients with pre and post-visit information.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments by phone and e-mail.
- Answer patients queries and ensure quality customer service.
- Collaborate with doctors and nurses to help with medical examinations, schedule tests and order supplies.
- Maintain medical and office supplies.
Requirements
Essential attributes:
- Proven work experience as a Medical Office Assistant.
- Strong organizational and time managementskills.
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and works well in a team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Office Assistant certification is an asset.
- Proficient with MS Office and use of electronic medical records.
- Punctual and professional.
- Compliance with clinic vaccine policy and confidentiality agreement
Preferable attributes:
- 2+ years of healthcare experience.
- 50+ words per minute typing.
- Medical Office Assistant certification.
- Experience with EMR.
- Experience with MSP billing.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Interest in marketing and sales.
- Interest in photography.
