Position Overview

The UPF Engineering Process Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the validation and implementation of UPF safety basis and technical design requirements in preparation for operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical adequacy reviews of:
    • Safety basis documents
    • Safety basis support documents
  • Review drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure proper implementation of safety basis requirements
  • Conduct validation and verification of technical design requirements within:
    • Drawings
    • Specifications
    • Engineering documentation
  • Verify results of acceptance testing to ensure:
    • Design criteria are met
    • Safety basis requirements are adequately demonstrated
  • Lead facility and system operational readiness efforts, including:
    • Preparation of readiness affirmation evidence packages
    • Verification of readiness documentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating engineering efforts across multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated technical capability, leadership, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work effectively in a project team environment
  • Strong communication skills with:
    • Internal teams
    • Customers
    • Stakeholders
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited program in:
    • Engineering
    • Physical Science (Chemistry, Physics, or related field)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A, including:
    • B.S. degree in engineering or related scientific field
    • 2 years of job-related experience
    • 1 year of nuclear experience
      OR
    • DOE O 426.2A approved alternative qualification
