Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist's role is to provide top quality speech and language treatment and evaluation services to Skill Sprout clients under physician orders. She will also assist in maintaining the quality of outpatient therapy services provided by Skill Sprout International, in addition to providing support and consultation for other disciplines within her areas of expertise.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for the following:

Billable Rate Activities:

 (workload associated with maintaining quality client care is assumed through the rate of compensation)

  • Evaluate and treat clients in need of speech/language services with a variety of diagnoses and delays.
  • Up to 3 hours of billable time can be reported for each speech language evaluation including report writing
  • Provide  evaluation, consultation, and diagnostic services as part of the Diagnostic Team
  • Provide appropriate documentation of all services rendered per the department's guidelines within the CPT code parameters

Non-Billable Rate Activities:

 (non-billable time is reimbursed at 50% the billable rate and must be pre-approved in writing or via email prior to completion)

  • Consult with other clinicians inside and outside of Skill Sprout to enhance continuity of care for clients as needed
  • Consult to administrative staff on best practices and current efficacy based treatment methodologies for speech language pathologists
  • Develops and implements discipline-specific trainings for Skill Sprout staff  as needed
  • Acts as mentor to speech language pathologists who are new to the field and/or pediatrics within the company
  • Collaborate with Director of Rehabilitation to develop clinics for Challenging Feeding Behaviors, Augmentative Communication, and others as the need arises.
  • Design and deliver parent training seminars as needed
  • Consultation on product development when needed
  • Other tasks as assigned and agreed upon

This position reports directly to the Director of Rehabilitation Services

Qualifications

The Clinical Supervisor Speech Language Pathologist  will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Minimum of a Masters degree
  • Certification and Illinois State licensure as Speech Language Pathologist in good standing
  • Early Intervention Provider Credential with Evaluator status in good standing
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children with autism and/or developmental delays
  • Bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish 
  • Proficient  in using  technology as communication and reporting  tool
  • Strong personnel management skills with a high degree of self-initiation
  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Personal and professional qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Skill Sprout's mission
