Job description

We are seeking a detail-orientedExperienced Senior Tax Associateto join our team in ourChicago, ILoffice. You will provide services to predominantly US-inbound international businesses (primarily German/European) in the manufacturing and distribution industry. What you will do:
  • Review (80%) and Preparation (20%) Federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns
  • Assist with the preparation and review of income tax provisions for corporate taxpayers under ASC 740
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, answering ad-hoc tax-related inquiries, handling notices, and addressing client requests
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of work while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
  • Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal, state, and international tax topics
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations; performance in-depth tax search, deliver timely and high-quality services that exceed client expectations
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates and interns
What you need to bring:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in federal and state income tax, including experience in public accounting
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Masters degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
  • CCH Axcess tax experience
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrate responsibility, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively as a team player
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong corporate tax compliance and tax provision experience
  • CPA license or similar certification
  • ProSystem fx Engagement
