WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the CNC Lathe Machinist, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:

  • Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications or equivalent.
  • Set up, operate, and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
  • Requires knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain.
  • Operators may run more than one unit simultaneously.
  • Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
  • Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Sustain production standards and quality.
  • Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

ABOUT YOU:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ year related training or work experience.
  • Knowledge of machining techniques and methods
  • Familiarity with setting up and running 3 and 4 axis CNC lathes
  • Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
  • Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications
  • Able to operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.
  • Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Be a team player who can perform in a fast-paced environment with sense of urgency.
  • Quality oriented with a hands-on personality, “do it right the first time” personality.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
