ABOUT ACCURATE METAL MACHINING

Accurate Metal Machining, Inc. (AMMI) is a precision machining company headquartered in Painesville, Ohio, serving aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. Skilled machinists are the heart of what we do, and we invest in the people who take pride in their craft.

POSITION SUMMARY

The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC machines from blueprints, specifications, and job layouts, holding very close dimensional tolerances across a variety of materials. This role requires strong technical skills, good independent judgment, and a commitment to quality and efficiency. At AMMI, our machinists are trusted to run their machines well, communicate proactively, and deliver parts right.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up new and repeat jobs efficiently from blueprints and job routers
  • Create programs at the machine and produce parts to blueprint specifications
  • Submit and achieve first article approval
  • Achieve machine rate listed on the job router
  • Ensure part process is stable and ready for operator handoff
  • Operate machines while monitoring and maintaining part quality
  • Change worn tooling and make machine offsets as needed
  • Inspect and document critical features per the inspection document
  • Complete all required production documentation and enter setup and production daily
  • Properly identify machined parts using labels or tags
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work independently while keeping foreman and engineering informed of any issues or developments

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • CNC machining experience
  • Proficient with Fanuc M and G codes
  • Ability to read blueprints with solid knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficient understanding and use of inspection equipment
  • Strong math skills
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of CNC setup experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines
  • Aerospace or precision machining background
