Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist

Job Description

The 2nd Shift CNC Machinist produces precision machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and mills. This role maintains strict quality and safety standards, keeps accurate production records, and ensures equipment and supplies remain in optimal condition.

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC lathes and mills using G-code and M-code to produce precision components to specification.
  • Set up CNC lathes and mills, including tooling selection, workholding, and machine offsets, to ensure efficient and accurate machining operations.
  • Operate CNC horizontal lathes and milling machines throughout the shift to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
  • Inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, productivity, and repeatability.
  • Maintain quality standards by following established procedures, documenting measurements, and completing required production records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices while working with CNC equipment and in the machining area.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure adequate supplies and tooling are available for continuous production.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve machining issues and optimize processes.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience as a CNC machinist working with lathes or mills.
