Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a Junior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Centreville, VA, Baltimore, MD, or Washington, DC. This is an excellent opportunity to support impactful structural projects across the DC/MD/VA region and nationwide. We are looking for motivated individuals with a desire to work on both conventional and design-build bridge programs. Location: Centreville, VA; Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC (Hybrid Work Model)
In this role, you will work on a variety of bridge projects, including concrete and steel bridges, deck and superstructure rehabilitations, and other innovative designs. You will gain hands-on experience and develop the technical expertise needed to deliver high-quality bridge designs. Parsons is recognized for its technical depth, client-focused approach, and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and designing bridge structures to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct and support In-Service Bridge Inspectors in the inspection, documentation, and quantification of deficient bridge elements.
  • Perform conventional and moderately complex bridge engineering tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop engineering computations, material quantity take-offs, cost estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Develop CAD drawings and Collaborate with CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and Engineers to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to quality and continuous improvement through innovative thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Build and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Typically 1+ years of related work experience in bridge or structural engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or other relevant certifications may be required.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software tools is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
