Junior Automation Test Engineer (IVR & Chat)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid; three days onsite, two days remote)
Contract: 12-to-24-month engagement through Brooksource, with potential for future conversion based on performance and business need
Compensation: $32 - $34 per hour (first year on contract, depends on experience)

Brooksource is seeking a motivated Junior Automation Test Engineer to join our Fortune 200 Banking partner's IVR and Chat team in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role (three days onsite, two days remote) is ideal for early-career professionals interested in test automation, quality assurance, or software engineering. As part of the team supporting customer experience platforms across both the Auto and Bank business units, you will help test and validate Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and chat-based customer interactions while contributing to the team's growing automation initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer, QA professional, or developer interested in transitioning into test automation. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys solving problems, and is motivated to take ownership of work in a highly collaborative environment. You will spend your initial onboarding period learning our client's testing processes, telephony platforms, and customer experience workflows before gradually taking ownership of test execution, automation scripting, and support of IVR and chatbot initiatives.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Support testing efforts for IVR, contact center, and chatbot applications across Auto and Bank organizations
  • Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts for customer interaction workflows
  • Validate functionality, performance, and customer experience across voice and chat channels
  • Analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with development teams on issue resolution
  • Assist with automation initiatives for IVR and chatbot testing
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and story validation activities
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, business analysts, and QA team members
  • Learn and support telephony and conversational AI technology ecosystems
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation

Required Qualifications:
  • 0-1 years of experience in Software Testing, QA, Test Automation, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience developing scripts or applications using Python
  • Understanding of software testing concepts and QA methodologies
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks or automated testing practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and analyze test results
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting chatbot or conversational AI solutions
  • Experience testing IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems
  • Exposure to contact center technologies such as Genesys, NICE, or similar platforms
  • Exposure to AI platforms such as Claude, Google Gemini, or other generative AI chatbot solutions
  • Experience with automated testing of voice or chat applications
  • Basic understanding of AWS cloud services
  • Prior software development experience and an interest in transitioning into QA/Test Automation
