Job Summary
The Automation Engineer role on the Automation Engineering team supports users of Tungsten RPA and Power Platform tools, as well as assists other engineers with problem resolution. Employees at this level solve more complex problems and manage work with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Responsibilites
  • Development of software automations
  • Debug complex application platform or automation issues
  • Perform application platform upgrades and patching
  • Communicate with the business about their automations
  • Assist teammates with problem resolutions

Basic/Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience
  • In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 2 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 3 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Duke Energy
  • 1-2 years of experience with Robotic Process Automation
  • 1-2 years of Power Platform & Power Automate experience
  • Windows, Active Directory, Networking, Data Center Infrastructure
  • Windows Server Maintenance
  • Kofax RPA, Power Automate, UIPath, Automation 360, Blue Prism or equivalent automation software
  • Experience with Git or other version control software

Working Conditions
  • Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.

Specific Requirements
  • HS Diploma/GED + 3 Years in an automation engineering or software engineer role OR
  • Associates degree + 2 years in an automation engineering or software engineering role
  • Automation or programming development.
  • Great problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with business partners.
  • Ability to solve most problems with minimal assistance from team members.
