IOWA SPEEDWAY

Located near Des Moines, Iowa Speedway joined the NASCAR family of tracks in 2013. Known as the "Fastest Short Track on the Planet", Iowa Speedway plays host to two major race weekends a year, welcoming the ARCA Menards Series and the NTT INDYCAR Series. The track was designed by NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace.

Iowa Speedway is hiring for a Security Coordinator Event Staff member. This position provides a visible security presence to guests, and employees, and assists with questions regarding directions, information about the facility, parking, and disabled assistance. This is a part-time event-based position, primarily focused on assisting with Iowa Speedway pre- and post-event security responsibilities, during the period from April 1st to September 1st, 2026.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide lock/unlock schedules for doors and gates at designated times to security staff members
- Assist plans to screen all persons seeking access to ticketed and/or secured areas
- Assist with crowd control plans, coordinate with staff to setup of perimeter fences / barricades, develop a comprehensive security plan for events to be approved by event promoter / admin staff when applicable
- Coordinate staff to patrol the property and monitor for unwanted, unsafe, or suspicious behavior
- Assist guests with questions and provide directions
- Coordinate scheduling, training, and supervision of security event staff
- Recruit and grow the security event staff department
- Coordinate activities with other departments and outside agencies
- Assist in the development of security, traffic, and Emergency Action Plans for facility / events
- Assist in scheduling, contracting, and supervising third-party security companies
- Coordinate third-party security request from vendors including invoices & collecting for scheduled security man-hours
- Foster relationships and coordinate staffing with local, county, state, and federal authorities for event support
- Assist with providing / competing incident reports and effective handling of the investigation processes
- Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols
- Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manor
- Review current security protocols and discuss improvements when applicable
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior customer service experience is strongly preferred.

- Minimum age 21 years old.
- Adhere to the company's substance abuse policy.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work with others and take direction.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous attitude with guests at all times.
- Ability to work nights/weekends as assigned.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Some positions may require a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle license inspection report.
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the track location.
- Basic Computer Skills to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ABI Scheduling Software, Etc.
