Senior Director, Distribution Finance and Inventory Control

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Finance & Inventory Control reports to Vice President - North America Finance & Inventory Control and will be the primary North America finance partner for the Chief Supply Chain Officer. This member of the team will support all North American distribution centers including locations in Whittier, CA, Teterboro, NJ and Montreal, Canada. The individual will lead SOX control compliance, inventory control reporting and analysis, financial forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close management and support operational decision making through distribution center and outbound freight cost management analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Director of Supply Chain Finance & Inventory Control is responsible for the following job duties, as well as additional responsibilities not listed as assigned:
  • Manage month/quarter-end accounting and inventory close, including journal entry preparation and review
  • Manage compliance with SOX controls for distribution center Inventory Control
  • Complete a monthly financial forecast for North America distribution center locations and outbound freight
  • Create semi-annual multi-year budgets for North America distribution center locations and outbound freight
  • Capital Planning and Capital Expense tracking
  • Manage distribution center accounts payable and requisition process, including review and approval
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts and budgets, including variance analysis, to the Executive Team, including but not limited to VP of Distribution, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Division Presidents and CFO
  • Weekly variable labor actualization and forecasting
  • Long range headcount planning for operations
  • Monthly update of offsite storage spend and forecast
  • Preparation of quarterly financial review deck for publishing to operational group
  • Preparation of financial review deck for review with CFO
  • Facilitate a monthly review of actual spend at a department level (e.g. facilities, HR, IT, etc., with department leaders) and reforecast at the direction of the leaders
  • Preparation of watermark tool, to determine minimum demand for roles, for DC line employees
  • Lead preparation of a weekly update to the P&Ls including updating actuals and publishing
  • Lead preparation of a weekly headcount planning tool
  • Review of employee roles and departments as they are included in Workday and Dayforce in coordination with the HR team
  • Manage a team of at least three direct reports responsible for financial analysis and inventory control accounting
  • Other ad hoc requests


Essential Skills:
  • Ability to apply accounting principles to established Capri Holdings practices and potential practices
  • Advanced financial forecasting skills, including forecast modelling
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to liaison with all levels of management and employees
  • Ability to work and manage independently


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning and Reporting
  • Experience with SAP accounting system
  • Understanding of activity based cost methodology - specifically as applied to labor planning
  • Experience with inventory and warehouse management systems

Requirements:
  • Four year degree in either Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (Preferred)
  • 7+ Years in Production or Warehousing finance and accounting
  • Fundamental understanding of financial statements, including but not limited to: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows and Statement of Stockholder Equity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High ethical standards
