JOB TITLE: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver

JOB SUMMARY: We are hiring part-time and full-time drivers to help out in various services such as transporting patients and other clients. Medstar provides several types of contracted transportation with wheelchair accessible vans, buses or sedans. These include non-emergency medical transportation, ADA paratransit, fixed route transportation, shuttle and commuting.

SHIFTS NEEDED:

4:00 AM to 12:00 NOON (4 weekdays + Saturday or Sunday, and once a week on-call afterhours duty as needed)
12 NOON to 8:00 PM (4 weekdays + Saturday or Sunday, and once a week on-call afterhours duty as needed)

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Be over the age of 21 (licensed for 5 years)
2. Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License
3. Must NOT have more than 2 moving violations within 3 years
4. Must pass DOT drug screening, and a mandatory criminal background check
5. Must be available to work 32 to 40 hours a week, with once a week afterhours on-call duty
6. Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or willing to get vaccinated
7. Must be physically able to secure clients in wheelchairs or other devices
8. Must have a positive attitude and compassion to help others

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establish transparent communication with dispatch.
2. Utilize a smartphone fully.
3. Complete Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
4. Transport clients using a company vehicle safely and securely.
5. Potentially do rotational on-call trips.
6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

HIRING PROCESS:

1. Submit your application.
2. Get a job shadow invitation via text or email within the week.
3. Attend a job shadow and pass the background check.
4. Once cleared, we will send the link for drug screen completion to your email address.
5. Complete virtual classroom training, fingerprints and other paperwork.
6. Complete a 5-day Training in Vehicle with one of our trainers in your assigned area.
7. Get signed off and start driving!
