Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrical Project Manager in Bloomington, IL. The Electrical Project Manager will lead and oversee commercial electrical construction projects throughout Cook and Lake Counties, focusing on healthcare and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing multiple active projects from preconstruction through closeout, specifically within an electrical contractor environment.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple commercial electrical construction projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and maintain consistent communication with clients.
  • Oversee project budgeting, financial forecasting, scheduling, and procurement activities.
  • Support design-build project execution and preconstruction coordination efforts.
  • Review project drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and impact.
  • Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid/Trimble software for project documentation and management.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules and ensure high-quality execution of electrical systems.
  • Support project logistics and coordination efforts between the office and various job sites.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of electrical project management experience within a professional contractor setting.
  • Strong background in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or MEP electrical construction.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple active projects and priorities effectively.
  • Stable work history with an electrical contractor background rather than general contracting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for client-facing and team leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Prior experience with IBEW environments or occupied healthcare facilities is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid or similar estimating software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend time between an office environment and active construction job sites.
  • Must be able to perform field inspections, which may include climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending to inspect electrical installations.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Awareness of OSHA safety standards and ability to work around loud noises or heights.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
