POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Assistant Project Manager at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for providing various drainage analyses and design support to our land development clients. The H&H group creates drainage studies in support of design for our diverse client base that incorporates their specific needs while providing the added benefits of optimized conservation, amenities, and effective land development plans
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Assist in managing multiple H&H studies in support of Land Development Projects
- Review project requirements to determine and prepare models for the analysis
- Performs hydraulic calculations and provides direction to technical support or drafting personnel.
- Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems and possible solutions
- Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates directly with them to obtain the needed data
- Makes basic decisions regarding alternative procedures when information is not given
- Communicate effectively with all internal LJA personnel involved with the project
- Prepare scopes and budgets as requested for review by the H&H Project Manager
- Assist in the preparation of presentation materials
- Assist in coordinating and directing large and important engineering projects or several smaller projects with many complex features
- Assist with daily operations and schedules for H&H engineering analysis to support the Land Division
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
- Certified Engineer-in-Training
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, FEMA Letters of Map Change, and Floodplain Fill Mitigation Plans in and around Harris County
- Proficient in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS
- Experience in advanced H&H modeling, such as XP-Storm or 2D modeling is a plus
- Strong report writing skills
