What you will be doing:
The Control Tower Engineer is responsible for identifying, creating and triaging warranty issues, working closely with engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing and service teams to analyze parts and vehicles to resolve warranty issues for our customers. Opportunities are available in the Vehicle Engineering (VEHE) Control Tower Mechatronics team, which includes but is not limited to switches, latches, door systems, mirrors, electronic shifters, wiper systems, and seat controls.
  • Lead the identification of warranty related issues through part analysis and vehicle reviews; the Control Tower Engineer is accountable for initial problem-solving, proposed responsible functional area and clean point validation.
  • Propose triage recommendations based on combined data and physical insights for resolution by downstream teams.
  • Support governance of the warranty issue through its lifecycle

What you'll need to be successful:
Essential :
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Well-rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint
  •  
Preferred :
  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Shainin RedX Black Belt
  • Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe
  • Design for Six Sigma
  • Project Management
  • Working knowledge of TeamCenter, Palantir
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings
  • 2 years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
