Job Title: Electro-mechanical Engineer
Reports to: Technical Director
Overview: Join our dynamic team at Caliber Sales Engineering as an Electro-mechanical Engineer. As an Electro-mechanical Engineer, you will assume a leadership role in our technical team, leveraging your expertise in both electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing processes to oversee the assembly, repair, and optimization of complex machinery and equipment. This multifaceted role requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering, coupled with hands-on experience in manufacturing, reverse-engineering, assembly, and repair environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality, reliability, and quality of electromechanical systems throughout their lifecycle. Prior experience in supporting/maintaining Northrop, Lockheed, or Raytheon radar systems is highly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Integration:
  • Design and develop assembly procedures, work instructions, and fixtures for electromechanical systems.
  • Oversee the assembly process, ensuring components are correctly installed and systems are assembled according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Repair and Maintenance:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electromechanical systems to identify issues and root causes.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring equipment is restored to operational condition.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to verify the functionality and performance of assembled systems.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and improve product reliability.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyze manufacturing and assembly processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement process enhancements and lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate production metrics to achieve operational excellence.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assembly procedures, repair activities, and quality assurance measures.
  • Generate reports on repair activities, equipment performance, and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Support:
  • Provide training and technical support to assembly technicians and repair personnel.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the assembly and repair team.

Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in electromechanical systems, manufacturing, or repair are advantageous.
  • Equivalent work or military experience is also considered.
  • Proven experience in electromechanical assembly, repair, and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical components, systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly tools, test equipment, and repair procedures.
  • Familiarity with military operations and requirements
  • Veteran with technical experience
  • Experience in radar electronics troubleshooting and repair is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, digital electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, controls
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience with retrofitting and updating old architecture with new technology to continue product lifespan
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing and analyzing electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, actuators, motors, and other electromechanical components.
  • Experience with using 3D printers and CNC machines for modifying existing products and new product development
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Skills:
