Job description

As part of our involvement, Jefferson Industries Corporation offers design and development for press dies and other tools necessary to produce automotive products. We embrace programs for product development including product design review and Advanced Product Quality Planning. We are actively seeking Facilities Maintenance Technicians to join our Facilities Department team on 2nd shift (core schedule, Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm)
1. Role: Support production in meeting daily requirements by maintaining Facility, HVAC, Electrical, Water, Grounds and overall building
2. Responsibilities: Preventative maintenance inspections, equipment repairs and improvements, work area organization, spare parts tracking, emergency breakdown response, work order completion, program back ups, safety/PPE, acquire training as needed, maintain proper documentation, and predictive maintenance tasks.
3. Job Description:
SAFETY
  • Follow all JIC safety policies and procedures to include proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout and proper use of all power tools and machine shop equipment (Lathe, Mill, Saw, etc.).
  • Daily 5S organization of work areas. This means to tour your assigned work areas and facility for all electrical cabinets are closed, no maintenance items are sitting out and not put away, and general COP activities. This includes the area around where your toolbox is located.

QUALITY
  • Support meeting overtime and budget goals.
  • Actively pursue cost reduction activities which may include spare part cost, vendor usage, etc

DELIVERY
  • Assigned equipment may include but is not limited to Exhaust Fans, Make-Up Air units, HVAC systems, Boiler, Chillers, Water systems, Lighting, Plant Electrical systems, Overhead Doors, Dock Locks & Levelers, Kitchen Equipment, etc.
  • Perform PM inspections, make necessary repairs during PM inspection and follow up with equipment operation to verify repairs are correct.
  • Make equipment repairs and improvements that are identified from PM inspections and/or equipment breakdowns to achieve zero impact to production.
  • Provide support to other departments as needed

MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate and obtain any support needed for any activities
  • Verify MRO has appropriate spare parts for daily operation
  • Initiate needed training to maintain skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks
  • Support Environmental requirements which may include ISO14001 rules, government regulations, etc.
  • Maintain all needed documentation and record keeping which may include Plex, Insurance requirements, government regulations, OSHA, etc.
  • Support and communication with Out-Side contractors for projects and activities that are controlled by Facilities group
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Possess skills to communicate with supervision and other Associates.
  • Able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in identifying defects and solving problems with equipment and process to avoid missed quality, delivery or safety concerns.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Able to work at heights up to 60 feet, work on electrical up to 480 volts and operate forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing preferred.
