Facility Maintenance Mechanic Overview:

Horizon Tool, Inc. is seeking an individual to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.  Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.  Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for problems.  Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.  Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


Facility Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:

*  High school diploma or GED

*  Maintenance technician: 3 years (Preferred)

*  Experience in manufacturing or liquid blending in a food and/or pharmaceutical environment a plus.

*  Previous experience with electrical and mechanical PLC based applications in a GMP/cGMP industrial maintenance environment

*  Welding, fabricating & machining.

*  Be willing to work overtime as needed.

*  Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

*  Strong verbal and written communication is required.

*  Physically able to stand,  crouch, stoop for extended periods of time.

*  Able to lift 50lbs.


Facility Maintenance Mechanic Main Areas of Responsibility:

* Maintain all plant equipment inside and outside the facility.

*  Responsible for set-up, loading, starting, adjusting process variables, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and properly shutting down process equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications.

*  Technical resource to Operations, Reliability, Engineering, etc. on maintenance related issues including troubleshooting, analysis and recommending practical corrective actions for equipment-related problems

*  Ensures that new equipment is properly laid out and installed according to machine and plant specifications.

*  Ensures all broken equipment is reported timely to Production Supervisor/Manager

*  Communicates required repaired list of broken items to Production Supervisor/Manager on a timely manner.

*  Conducts equipment testing (FAT/PAT) to ensure that it continues to meet job specifications.

*  Works with vendors obtaining quotes based on an RFQ and Specifications

*  Supports process design and continuous improvement in a variety of production processes.

*  Identifies opportunities and make recommendations to improve plant performance utilizing or improving current equipment.

*  Expected to provide equipment care leadership and colleague training on the manufacturing floor.

*  Must take personal pride in equipment care and providing suggestions for improvements to the manufacturing process improvements.
