Job Title : Refrigeration Technician
Location : Kansas City, KS, US
Pay Rate : USD $26.55 - $37.85 / hr + Benefits
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Responsibilities:
  • Performing and consulting on robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs.
  • Expertly performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment.

  • Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role.
  • Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Must assist and support training and development of more junior Refrigeration Technicians.
  • Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling

  • Frequent overhead work
  • Temperatures inside plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may be also be needed
  • Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 6 months industrial refrigeration experience, graduate of an industrial refrigeration program (I.E. possess a RETA 1 Operator License or Operator 1 License).Please list these on your application or resume.
  • Must have Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
