Security Alarm Installation Technician: Role Summary

High Rise Fire and Security seeks an experienced Security Alarm Installation Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, test, program, and integrate electronic security systems, including intrusion, access control, CCTV, and intercom. Work spans NYC Metro and South Florida, with emphasis on code-compliant, reliable installations and customer service.

Security Alarm Installation Technician: Key Responsibilities
  • Install-to-termination for access control (readers, panels, doors); program and commission systems.
  • Mount, position, and configure CCTV cameras; integrate to NVR/VMS and set up recording/analytics.
  • Install, program, test, and demonstrate intrusion and intercom systems.
  • Configure IP devices (PoE, addressing, VLAN basics) and ensure system interoperability.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and document issues; ensure code compliance and clean closeout.
  • Partner with managers/engineers/installers; work independently as needed; participate in on-call/overtime.
Security Alarm Installation Technician: Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED; trade/vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years installing/servicing security alarm systems (intrusion, access control, CCTV).
  • Experience with Honeywell, DMP, Keyscan, Brivo, Speco, Napco, ExacqVision, Avigilon (certs a plus).
  • Read electrical schematics/CAD; use meters, tone generators, RJ terminations; safe power tool use.
  • Basic electronics (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC); lift 50 lbs; ladders; indoor/outdoor work.
  • Clear communication; accurate reports; basic time/project management.
