Job Description

Our client, Microbix is looking for an ambitious and driven professional with a background in diagnostics to provide top notch support to their Distributor network as a Sales Support Specialist. A terrific next step for someone who has proven themselves as capable of learning the technical side of biotechnology but is driven by managing client relationships and driving mutual success. As primary contact you will manage the Distributor interaction from inquiry to Contract management to overseeing the delivery on orders. You will meet with potential and existing Distributors as required including at Trade Shows and through virtual meetings and in person meetings when that is again viable.

Microbix Biosystems Inc. develops and commercializes proprietary biological and technological solutions for human health and wellbeing. We manufacture a wide range of critical biological materials for the global diagnostics industry, notably antigens used in immunoassays and Quality Assessment and Proficiency (QAPs™) testing products.

Microbix's business of producing high quality viral and bacterial preparations are the result of nearly three decades of experience in the field, including strain selection, reliable and efficient organism culture at scale, purification and methods of inactivation. As a result of Microbix's expertise, its products have received widespread and longstanding customer acceptance, with continuing growth in demand.


Responsibilities:

  • Support direct sales of Quality Assessment Products (QAPs) to US Based end users (Clinical labs and research facilities)
    • Actioning leads from various sources, driving sales and forecasting revenue
    • Similar in function to the distributor support requirements described below
  • Act as the primary contact for all inquiries from Distributors and supporting OEMs (other customers) for the Quality controls brand line (called QAPsTM)
    • Involve/defer to the appropriate personnel to best assist with the inquiry such as product management, product coordinator or customer service team.
    • Onboard distributors by initiating distributor contracts, distributing confidentiality and quality agreements, and price lists (update and maintain price quotes) for current and new distributors.
    • Process and ship product samples to Distributors and other stakeholders by communicating with departments involved.
    • Ensure products are manufactured to meet Distributor orders on a timely basis.
    • Schedule quarterly meetings/conference calls with current or potential Distributors to keep them up to date on new product panels, new changes, sales strategies and marketing needs.
    • Maintain Distributor data and potential sales leads in Salesforce
    • Additional tasks as seen necessary to progress either QAPs™ product line or QAPs™ Distributors, within reasonable measures.
  • Prepare for and attend trade shows on occasion.
    • Promote QAPs™ product line, meet with potential and current Distributors, and attend other meetings/informational sessions deemed necessary by SVP, Sales & B.D.
  • Participate in creation of/editing QAPs™ marketing materials including brochures and advertisements.
  • Create and update Offsite presentations on distribution activities, forecasts, marketing needs, etc. and present to senior management.

Requirements:

  • College or university degree in related life science field
  • 3 years experience dealing with B2B customer base
  • Experience with infectious disease diagnostics a strong plus
  • Friendly, upbeat demeanor
  • Ability to play on a team a must
  • This is mainly a work in the office role with flexibility to work from home
