About You
We are seeking a highly skilled individual who possesses:

  • A high school diploma is required; an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience designing technology systems using REVIT; additional relevant experience is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in creating detailed designs using REVIT; proficiency with AutoCAD is also advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with PDF software such as Bluebeam or equivalent programs.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in collaborative team environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, maintaining a high standard of professionalism.  

About the Role

As a Senior Technology Systems Designer, you will:

  • Collaborate with owners, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to define technology, audiovisual, and security requirements and ensure seamless project coordination.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive contract documents—including drawings, diagrams, plans, and details—in line with Gresham Smith’s design standards.
  • Provide clear redlines, quality control reviews, and feedback on equipment lists and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent.
  • Conduct research on codes, standards, equipment, and construction methods to inform design and scope development.
  • Prepare narrative documents, adTechnologydenda, ASIs, CCDs, and other construction phase submissions as part of project management and communication.
  • Participate in meetings, resolve design challenges collaboratively, and assist Project Managers with oversight and resource management.
  • Mentor junior designers, supporting their professional growth with an eye toward future leadership roles.
