Qualification:
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma preferred. Computer literate; familiar with email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive and associated file formats preferred. Knowledge and experience in school food service or other food service work. Must be able to obtain certification for a Certified Food Handler from an accredited course. Education and employment history must reflect punctual and regular attendance. Desire to work cooperatively with fellow workers, teachers, students, parents, and the general public. Such alternatives to these qualifications as the Superintendent may deem appropriate and acceptable.
Language Skills:
English usage, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. Oral and written communications. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, correspondence, memos, and emails.

- Take and pass the exam for a Certified Food Handler
- Prepare and serve food for the cafeteria
- Manual ware washing daily
- Complete and utilize production records properly
- Be able to read and understand basic instructions
- Assist with food and supply deliveries following proper procedures
- Operate cash register using current software
- Learn all essential duties and responsibilities of a cafeteria assistant
- Work at another school cafeteria as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities: none
Qualification:
- Must be able to perform, accurately and efficiently, all the duties and responsibilities indicated here, and any other duties assigned by the supervisor and/or director.
- Physical requirements: light to moderate lifting, prolonged standing, full range of physical activity.
- Must know basic mathematics
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
- Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and work cooperatively with others.
- Meet schedules and timelines.
- Must be able to adapt successfully to frequent changes
- Be able to work at different school locations as needed
