Responsibilities

Summary:

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for utilizing, modifying, improving, and further developing the multiple manufacturing systems that are needed in the daily production and servicing of BI products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as systems engineer for manufacturing process and operations.
  • Execute on manufacturing system modifications as directed by the Lead Process Enginee
  • Identify areas for improvement through process automation.
  • Understands and models manufacturing processes and information infrastructure. Proposes process and software improvement needed to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Collaborate across functions with Methods & Procedure Support, Industrial and Process engineering, and IT team members to execute on needed manufacturing changes and improvements.
  • Responsible for developing or modifying code to meet manufacturing systems requirements.
  • Responsible for the identification and implementation of coding and unit testing standards for manufacturing and operations
  • Coordinates code releases, quality and testing for manufacturing and operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a suitability determination.
  • United States citizenship required.
  • Must live in the United States 3 of the last 5 years (military and study abroad included).
  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodology.
  • Source Control: knowledge of change control technologies.
  • Thorough familiarity with product development lifecycle and extensive experience with multiple methodologies
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and standard operation procedure
  • Outstanding technical and analytical skills.
  • Understand databases: Relational database experience, SQL Server 2012 or higher.
  • Ability to provide technical mentoring to peers, evaluate technical alternatives and provide technical recommendations to management.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to information stored in operational databases.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
