Job description

Senior Network Design Engineer 

Our client, a leading federal defense contractor has a long-term contract opening for a Senior Network Design Engineer with strong enterprise network design experience in Scottsdale, AZ. You will be a member of a cross functional team providing support for Satellite Ground Systems.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide Enterprise Network Design/topology
  • High speed network design and implementation
  • Maintenance of Network topology that will utilize Linux IDM/Windows Servers for DNS and Account Management, Juniper Firewalls, Arista Switches and NAS/SAN storage
  • Provide hands-on implementation and troubleshooting

  • Must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance
  • Requires a Bachelor-s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master''''s degree with 6+ years of job-related experience.
  • Deep understanding of network topology
  • Familiarity with Multicast, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, hardening and resolution of findings
  • Written skills to include development and maintenance of documentation for network, system, operations, etc.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere and virtual machines
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Linux operating system
