Job description

Position: Automation Engineer
Location - Chicago, IL Preferred (3 days at client location downtown), but can look at remote if good candidate
Duration: 6 Months
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather and interpret business requirements for automation initiatives.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and workflows.
  • Integrate automation tools with existing systems and platforms to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Identify root causes of automation failures and implement timely fixes to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of automation processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and manage timelines to ensure automation projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements through automation to reduce manual effort and increase productivity.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation.
Preferred skills & qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in automation tools (E.g. Automation Anywhere, UiPath)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
