Castaway Waterfront Restaurant & Sushi Bar - Sushi Chefs

Castaway Waterfront Restaurant & Sushi Bar is looking to hire a group of highly skilled sushi chefs to prepare sushi dishes!

Our restaurant is serving Breakfast, Lunch & Happy Hour and Dinner, serving seafood, LOTS OF SUSHI, raw bar, full liquor bar, elegant wine list and 32 beers on tap. Recently featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, Discovery Channel, Coastal Living Magazine, Nat Geo Food Traveler and much more.

The Sushi Chefs` responsibilities include preparing traditional Japanese sushi rice, chopping, slicing, and filleting various kinds of fish.

Responsibilities:

• Cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish,
• Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes,
• Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety,
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment,
• Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products,
• Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use,
• Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working in sushi restaurants,
• Sound knowledge of food safety regulations,
• The ability to work under pressure,
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.

• 8 - 10 hour shifts
• Day shift, Night shift
