Job description

Job Summary:
Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking two full-time Infrastructure Engineers within their Technology Services Division. The role involves managing the installation and maintenance of local and wide area networks, cybersecurity systems, and server infrastructure, while providing advanced tech support and ensuring data security across multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware and software, as well as advanced network configurations (Layer 2/3), including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
• Develop and implement advanced data security measures, including penetration testing and other techniques, to harden infrastructure systems and ensure security best practices.
• Oversee projects, manage external contractors and internal staff, and assist senior IT staff with system lifecycle planning, ensuring effective collaboration and timely delivery of infrastructure initiatives.
• Provide staff training on security practices and ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and backup systems for critical functions.
• Manage remote services (e.g., internet, SD-WAN, VPN) and provide 24x7x365 on-call support for urgent infrastructure outages, while evaluating and recommending upgrades to infrastructure components and software.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or 4 years equivalent field experience), combined with 4+ years of relevant Infrastructure experience.
• Competent with Windows and MacOS computing environments.
• Competent with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, server hardware, tape backup systems, SAN, NAS, PBX/VoIP, surveillance systems, door access controls, and all other related technologies.
• Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI clearances (required - prior to hire).
