Financial Controller

We are hiring a Financial Controller to join our Senior management team in a mid-size packaging manufacturing company. Position open due to retirement of 30+ year employee.

Seeking motivated individual with a strong aptitude for accounting, ERP systems, accounting management processes, and possessing advanced Excel skills. CPA, MBA, or CMA desirable.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

Prepare monthly financial statements and communicate results to management.

Generate month-end work-in-process, finished goods and miscellaneous inventory reports and related adjusting G/L journal entries.

Generate month-end accruals, prepaids, adjusting G/L journal entries and G/L account reconciliations.

Reconcile monthly sales and generate monthly sales commissions reports for President’s review and approval.

Generate and submit compliance and borrowing base certificates to bank.

Manage annual external review of financial statements, including preparing annual review workpapers and satisfying annual review requests/inquiries.

Develop, implement, and monitor accounting internal control policies/procedures.

Administer inventory/job cost management system, including performing periodic standard cost rate reviews.

Interact regularly with company management and complete special projects as needed.

Accounting Management:

Manage 3 staff members performing duties involving Invoicing, A/R, and A/P

Other:

Utilize Excel to generate various spreadsheets for tracking and reporting purposes.

Facilitate and coordinate IT services.

Experience with SQL Server and MS Access queries is a plus.

Required Skills

Qualifications

Four-year Accounting degree.

Three (+) years accounting experience required, with one (+) year experience as a Controller/Assistant Controller.

Strong Excel and MS Office skills

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

Extended periods of sitting

Occasional bending and lifting less than 20 lbs.
