Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc., a not for profit human services Agency in Auburn, NY, seeks a Full Time (40 hours/week) Corporate Compliance Officer to administer and direct the quality assurance processes and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance requirements for all Agency programs.

The Corporate Compliance Officer is responsible for:
  • Ensuring that the Agency is adhering to federal and state regulations for the quality of care, patient's rights, regulatory compliance, record keeping and documentation.
  • Establishing appropriate facility policies and procedures and monitors the enforcement of such under the supervision of the Executive Director. Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conducting and supervising all quality assurance and utilization functions.
  • Monitoring all activities to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Reviewing and analyzing data for effective response in the event of deficiencies or complaints.
  • Planning, organizing and conducting quality assurance, quality improvement and utilization review activities.
  • Maintaining all logs documenting reports, reviews and any subsequent investigations required.
  • Coordinating and overseeing all activities related to corrective actions for identified non-compliance issues.
  • Working with administrative staff to prepare written guidelines pertaining to federal and state regulatory issues.
  • Conducting systematic/periodic audits of the program operations to determine compliance with and the efficiency of the Agency's compliance program.
  • Coordinating and assisting with staff education and training programs to encourage staff development as well as to assist the staff in understanding the statutory and regulatory context for quality improvements/assurance and justifications for continuation of stay.
  • Auditing reports and analyzing data regarding patient treatment and policies and procedures.
  • Reporting to the appropriate Agency non compliance that is illegal and/or required to be reported.
  • Reporting incidents of mistreatment, neglect or abuse in accordance with Agency policy and state/regulatory law.

Qualifications for the Corporate Compliance Officer:

Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field and a minimum of five years' experience in mental health programs. Must have comprehensive knowledge of the operations and functions of mental health services. Must be able to organize and coordinate services in a multi service agency and show sound, independent judgment in decision making. Must have ability to manage records and prepare reports related to the clinical management of the Agency. Must have strong management/leadership skills as well as both strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with individuals and in groups. Must have computer experience with work in Microsoft office highly preferred.
