Challenge Course Assistant Manager

Description:

The Challenge Course Assistant Manager is responsible for the operations and management of the BPAP Challenge Course. Responsibilities include following and improving operational procedures, scheduling, labor management, risk management, marketing, recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of employees.

Essential Duties

  • Manage the operations of the challenge course under the Challenge course manager’s guidance.
  • Develop and evaluate annually the operations manual
  • Ensures all course operations are conducted in accordance with BCI operations, ACCT standards, and OSHA standards.
  • Help in training programs at the park to include continuous education development for all levels of staff in accordance with ACCT and OSHA standards.
  • Creates safety documentation, reporting, record keeping, and maintenance plan processes to provide a safe environment for guests and employees
  • Develop and execute an integrated plan to increase awareness of BCI programs and opportunities in coordination with other team departments.
  • Act as Manager on Duty, and assist in Aquatics, Housekeeping, Ticket Booth, etc for daily operations (depending on daily staffing needs) and can respond to day-of scheduling matters, any inclement weather decisions, any guest complaints, and staff needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous challenge experience preferred, experience in tourism/ outdoor adventure industry or similar
  • 2- 3 years experience supervising a team
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • ACCT level 2 certification preferred

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to plan, initiate and lead small and large group activities
  • Able to wear a full body harness
  • Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Able to work in adverse outdoor weather conditions
  • Not afraid of heights: able to work on Ropes/Challenge course that contains heights upto 48 feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Work may involve the performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, lifting and/or carrying loads up to 50 pounds, climbing, and exposure to heights. The work environment may involve exposure to various elements, including, but not limited to, sun, rain, wind, hot/cold temperatures. Duties may require that work be performed in adverse weather conditions that follow operational standards. Work may require exposure to dangerous equipment requiring the use of protective clothing or gear.
