Job description

Individual contributor position responsible for supporting the Total Body Care package development process on a tactical level and through specialty projects; provide systems support, coordination, and project management guidance over primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. This position will work in a collaborative environment with partners in Design, Merchandising, Operations, Quality, Safety and Regulatory, Strategic Sourcing, as well as key vendors. As a trusted partner to the business and the vendor network this role is responsible for supporting and learning the package development process, including, but not limited to technical drawing review, fit and function evaluation, prequalification and validation, tooling reviews, creation of test procedures, and materials. This role also participates in supplier relations by engaging in the investigative study of packaging options for active projects and representing Bath & Body Works packaging through an engineering project management lens.

Responsibilities
Package Development/Execution
    Contribute to the development and execution framework for value engineering practices, idea generation and change implementation, to reduce costs and increase functionality of product and packaging at scale across all Bath & Body Works Business.
    Build strong understanding of Bath & Body Works processes within Supply Chain and external partners to create shared understanding of best practices and efficiencies. Drive change through test & scale process specific to primary, secondary and tertiary packaging designs, materials and systems. 
    Leverage a mix of KPIs, Vendor/DC Process walks and other activities to generate ideas and prioritize work
    Reviews and interprets projects & scope of work, including custom tooling and current PKG process. Defines overall PKG timeline and milestones then executes to it while mitigating obstacles in collaboration with cross functional partners.
    Partners with Sourcing to figure out which vendors should be used
    Finalizes print before making pitches to manager for approval
    Approves testing, drawings, tooling qualifications and overall project qualification
    Attends press runs and line trials
Talent Management
    Develop strong connections within different functional teams, including Strategic Sourcing, CSG, OPS, MFE, CM.
    Creation and execution of IDP/PPO/Mid-year/Performance Review/OLR profile/Career management profile for self
    Complete onboarding activities
    Assist in Onboarding new associates
    Participate in interviewing process when needed
    Provide training to partners from different functions and external vendors whenever feasible.
    Identify continuous learning opportunities for self (i.e. Learning manager, attend other meetings to gain insights, job shadowing)
    Participate and support AOS initiatives
    May have a direct report or mentor opportunities
 

    5-7 years' experience in Packaging Engineering
    Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods/retail a plus
    Ability to present complex information to non-technical multi-functional associates
    Ability to work in a results driven environment with demonstrated initiative and ability to achieve results
    Ability to build and cultivate strong trusted advisor relationships with internal and external partners
    System and computer proficiency
Education
    BS Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
