Summary:


The ASAP Caseworker is responsible for assessing and providing voluntary services to Central Illinois families formed through adoption and subsidized guardianship. Services include in-home assessments, crisis and other counseling interventions, education, training, support groups, respite, advocacy and referrals to community services. Demonstrates an ability to apply trauma-informed principles and integrates them into daily practice. Communicates effectively and promotes collaborative problem solving by demonstrating care and respect in considering the diverse experiences and perspectives of others.


WORK HOURS: This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5 hour workweek. The BabyFold hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of your position.

LOCATION: 614 Oglesby Avenue, Normal, Illinois 61761

PAY: Salary/ Exempt Position; Minimum $52,416.00 annually.  Salary commiserates with education and experience.


 Responsibilities:


1. Assessment: Conducts family and individual assessments of strengths and needs that are compliant with both ASAP procedures, DCFS, and COA.

2. Service/Treatment Planning: With the input of client families, plans services and treatments that will strengthen and support the families and focus child(ren). All Individualized Treatment Plans must be ASAP, DCFS, and COA compliant.

3. Mentoring, Advocating, Supporting, and Educating: In accordance with the service goals, provides mentoring, advocacy, support, and education that will protect children, preserve families and enhance the mental health of children and families alike.

4. Counseling Interventions: Provides appropriate counseling interventions that will support the focus child(ren) and their families to enhance their overall level of functioning. Assumes responsibility for on-call duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required.   

2. Minimum of two (2) years of casework experience strongly preferred.

3. Knowledge of and skills necessary to apply the principles of child welfare and trauma-informed practice to specific cases.

4. Willingness to work evening & weekend hours when necessary to meet the needs of the agency/ children/ families that we serve.

5. Demonstrated competence in serving a culturally diverse population. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse workforce.

6. Must travel for job responsibilities up to 50% of the workday, including long distance driving, the ability to enter the homes of families in the service area,

7. A valid driver's license that has not been revoked or suspended within the past three years, and use of a personal vehicle with adequate insurance as defined by agency policy.
