Description
St. Francis Xavier School is a Pre-K and Elementary Catholic School which is part of the St. Joseph Catholic Academy.
The custodial maintenance staff reports directly to the Principal. The custodial staff is responsible for the following duties:
- maintaining a clean and sanitized environment
- replenishing restroom and other necessary supplies throughout the facility as needed
- providing routine cleaning for the school through cleaning toilets, sinks, and window, taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting
- securing the building at the end of the day
- requesting necessary supplies for cleaning and maintaining the building
- perform a daily visual inspection of the entire school property and clean and maintain as needed
- informing the maintenance supervisor of repairs needed to the building through written work orders
- performing work to be done as a result of work orders requested by the principal, pastor, or business manager
- reporting all vandalism as soon as possible to the maintenance supervisor
- snow removal or ice treatment of sidewalks, entry ways as necessary
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions independently from supervisor
- Build collaborative relationships with employees
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Knowledge of chemicals, machines and tools used in cleaning
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Available to work afternoon and evenings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Related experience preferred
- Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
