About the Position
The Director of Tax leads the company’s enterprise-wide tax function for a large, multi-entity construction organization domiciled in the United States with operations and sales exclusively in the U.S. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements while optimizing the company’s effective tax rate and cash tax position, in alignment with Company values, policies, procedures, and key objectives. The Director provides strategic leadership across income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, property taxes, payroll-related taxes, and construction industry–specific tax considerations including multi-state operations, project/job costing implications, and indirect tax exposure. This role partners closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, HR/Payroll, Operations, and external advisors to manage tax risk, support business growth (organic and through M&A), and strengthen tax governance, processes and internal controls.
