Job Description

Advanced Gastroenterology is a long established, fast paced, private clinic located in Vancouver, WA. We have friendly, team-oriented staff with delightful patients. We are currently looking for a full time Certified Medical Assistant. An ideal candidate would be energetic, friendly, prompt and patient focused with the desire to use a more personalized approach. We consider our patients as we would family and seek to go the extra mile in their care.

**Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including two doses of a 2-dose series or a single dose of a 1-dose series prior to start date. Fully vaccinated is defined as 14 days post series completion date.**


Responsibilities may include:

-Assist with admitting and discharging patients
-Demonstrates knowledge of high-level disinfection of endoscopy equipment. (Maintains daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle, performs biological tests, test strips quality controls, and completes log, as per facility policies).
-Verifies proper functioning of equipment prior to procedure. Report malfunctioning equipment immediately to nurse manager.
-Utilizes good customer service while interacting with patient, family and physicians. Keeps patient and family informed on a timely basis.
-Utilizes appropriate patient identifiers prior to all interventions.
-Assists the physician with interventions as indicated (positioning, preparing specimens, GI tract tattooing, etc.)
-Proficient in the care, handling and disinfection of all endoscopes and accessories.
-Practices Standard Precautions.
-Cleans GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepares rooms for next case.
-Demonstrates appropriate aseptic techniques as indicated by interventions (hand hygiene, and equipment preparation).
-Maintains patient privacy, comfort, and safety throughout their stay.
-Appropriately handles the disposal of biohazardous materials/wastes.
-Restocks area daily, using appropriate par levels while utilizing facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices.
-Checks for outdated sterile supplies and instruments and assists with reprocessing as needed.
-Maintains confidentiality of records and patient information at all times.

-Must be ok with flexible start times.

Licensure and Certification:

-Current BLS Certification

-Current Washington state Medical Assistant License

Required skills:

-One year working medical experience as a Certified Medical Assistant

-Excellent time management skills

-Social perceptiveness and excellent communication skills

-Strong organizational and planning skills
