Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst to support project cost, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting for our exciting construction project. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing project controls systems that ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

The Project Controls Analyst will work closely with project management, field operations, estimating, and our client to monitor project performance and provide strategic insight into cost and schedule risk.

Duties:

  • Skilled in the use of company cornerstone systems and able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the project.  
  • Understands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actions.  
  • Participates in analyzing and using financial data to identify key metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and other methods of tracking action items.  
  • Knowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial position.  
  • Prepares revised cost forecast for select accounts. 
  • Prepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices.  
  • Compares actual cost to funding limitations. Prepares expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project funding. 
  • Reviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Maintains tracking database to ensure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field and 6 years of experience in Construction Project Controls or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience in the field of Construction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years of experience in construction project controls, cost control, or scheduling.
  • Strong accounting principals knowledge.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects ($100M+).
  • Background working with general contractors, construction management firms, or EPC organizations. 
  • Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Cost management systems (Procore, eBuilder, or similar)
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis
  • Project reporting and dashboard tools
