The Inventory Control & Cost Analyst is a vital role within our manufacturing operations. This mid-to-senior level position is ideal for someone with a solid background in cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing processes. You’ll be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing our product costs while ensuring inventory levels are accurate and aligned with production needs. Key Responsibilities:


  • Cost Accounting & Analysis:
  • Analyze and control product costs, including direct and indirect costs, labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Monitor cost variances and recommend adjustments to improve profitability.
  • Work with the finance team to provide accurate cost analysis reports to management.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management:
  • Develop, maintain, and update BOMs to ensure that product costs reflect the actual materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize BOMs for cost-efficiency and manufacturing accuracy.
  • Inventory Control & Management:
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy in inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory discrepancies and optimize stock levels, aligning with production schedules.
  • Manufacturing Costing & Bidding:
  • Assist in cost estimation for new bids and projects, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.
  • Support the preparation of cost structures for custom-built products, collaborating with sales and production teams.
  • ERP Systems & Reporting:
  • Utilize ERP software (preferably EpiCore, JobScope, or similar) to manage and report on inventory and costing data.
  • Generate and analyze reports for cost control, manufacturing performance, and inventory accuracy.
  • Work with the IT department to enhance ERP system usage for optimal cost control and data management.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Work alongside the management team to continuously streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce operational costs.


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory control, and manufacturing cost analysis (preferably within a manufacturing environment).
  • Hands-on experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, cost variance analysis, and cost accounting methods.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (experience with EpiCore, JobScope, or similar software is preferred).
  • Proficient in Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, family-owned environment with hands-on involvement in daily operations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Experience in bidding and cost estimation for manufacturing projects is a plus.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
