As an Embedded Firmware Engineer at 219 Design, you will collaborate with software, electrical, and mechanical engineers on a diverse set of projects to make impactful new products come to life. You will have an active role in firmware architecture, development, integration, and testing.

Requirements

  • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Ownership of system design and firmware on a variety of projects, ranging from quick-and-dirty proof of concepts to complex medical devices.
    • Architect, implement, and validate firmware - including integration with complex hardware and mechanical components.
    • Participate in code reviews by providing timely feedback to peers in a constructive manner.
    • Collaborate with 219ers across engineering disciplines during development.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to set objectives, schedules, and deliverables for self or a small team.
    • Define and execute tasks required to complete projects with well-defined or open-ended requirements.
    • Participate in weekly Software Discussion and Embedded Discussion meetings to discuss best practices and share project triumphs and struggles that could benefit from the input of others. Chime in on our Slack channels when you see an opportunity to help out a colleague.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • BS or MS in software, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
    • 4+ years experience as a firmware developer.
    • Proficiency with C bare-metal firmware for microcontrollers.
    • Successful experience in the development of complex technical systems.
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently to achieve team success.
    • You are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
    • Must be able to come into one of our offices as needed.
