Job description

Shift: Day Shift - 7:00am to 7:00pm Swing Shift
Pay Rate: $15.00
Summary:
A creeler is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and managing yarn on creels, ensuring a continuous and efficient supply to the tufting machines by adding or removing yarn as needed. Creelers ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the tufting process, which includes setting up, threading, and managing yarn supplies. Creelers work closely with tufting machine operators and menders as part of a crew who are responsible for producing first quality artificial turf.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Add, remove, or reposition yarn packages on creels.
  • Tie in yarn packages, ensuring knots of clipped correctly.
  • Remove empty tubes from the creel.
  • Remove yarn packages of old lots and prepare them for return to inventory.
  • Help tufting machine operators with backing changes.
  • Check yarn tube labels for proper lot number.
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
  • Work alongside tufting machine operators to ensure efficient workflow and meet production goals.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any safety, quality, or productivity issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of quickly identifying and addressing issues in the tufting process.
  • Works well in a team environment and communicates effectively with other team members.
  • Previous experience in textile manufacturing or tufting processes preferred.
