Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.
  • The Yarn Packer responsibility is to pack yarn in an orderly manner.

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.
  • Take buggies of finished cones from winder to packing area
  • Pack yarn in tops and bottoms provided
  • Push case to stretch wrap machine to wrap yarn and to scales to weigh
  • Ensure all cases are properly labeled and check that correct paperwork is attached
  • Push yarn off scales and conveyor and pickup with lift truck and place on trailer
  • Inspect cones for correct mark or label, winding and quality
  • Stack finished skeins around winder for each operator job
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type of Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge, Experience, Certifications: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Lift Truck Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
  • May be required to use department specific database systems
  • No prior experience required
