Job description

Company Description The Cozy Pea Yarn is a direct-to-consumer brand specializing in small-batch, hand-dyed merino wool yarn for knitting and crochet. Founded in late 2025, the company focuses on making high-quality, 100% merino wool accessible at fair prices through careful, one-pan-at-a-time dyeing. A fast-growing and highly engaged community has helped the brand scale from weekly drops of 40 skeins to selling over 750 skeins per week within hours. Cozy Pea Yarn prioritizes affordability, operational discipline, and craftsmanship, with an emphasis on intentional production and sustainable growth. The studio is based in Colorado and ships yarn nationwide.

Role Description The Studio Production Associate is a part-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO, supporting day-to-day yarn production and studio operations. Responsibilities include assisting with skein preparation, dyeing and rinsing processes, drying and winding yarn, and maintaining consistency and quality across batches. The role involves organizing inventory, labeling and packaging orders, and keeping the studio clean, safe, and well-organized. The associate will help prepare weekly drops, restock materials, and support operational workflows under the guidance of the studio lead. Occasional support for content capture (e.g., product photos, behind-the-scenes shots) and collaboration with the broader team may be required as the brand grows.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on production skills, including comfort with repetitive tasks, attention to detail, and ability to follow precise processes and recipes.
  • Studio and operations skills, such as basic inventory handling, organization, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials (yarn, water, dye equipment), and work safely around hot water and dye baths.
  • Interest in fiber arts, knitting, crochet, or hand-dyed yarn, with a willingness to learn production techniques and studio best practices.
  • Strong reliability, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate in a small team environment.
  • Prior experience in craft production, textile work, or small-batch manufacturing is beneficial but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
