Our Design team is responsible for establishing the trends, color, and style direction for our seasonal and customer-driven lines. They create apparel designs to be shared with internal teams during trend presentations, and external teams at buyer meetings. Once orders are placed, the Design team project manages and oversees the sample development and production process in conjunction with cross-functional partners. 

We are seeking a Senior Associate Designer to join our Laura Ashley team. This brand draws inspiration from the quintessential English lifestyle. Creating a feminine, sophisticated and timeless product, these traditional values and aesthetics are applied to create patterns that are rich in floral prints, remaining classic and true to the brand. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about fashion, have a keen eye for trends, and have a strong ability to multi-task. Additionally, they must be able to execute on the below essential responsibilities.   • Research the market and collaborate with designer on seasonal color forecasting and trends, appropriate development and print concepts.
  • Bring ideas and concepts for design and development to senior team.
  • Attend design meetings, proto reviews, and line reviews.
  • Attend fittings and provide comments.
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external meetings.  
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross function team members (Sales, Product Development, Graphics) through communication and problem solving. 
  • Work with senior team in CADing, choosing colors and prints for design presentations. 
  • Assist designers with color palettes and flat sketching.
  • Approve print and graphics strike offs. 
  • Oversee completion of accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details. 
  • Oversee accurate completion of production packages including color and trim specifications and preparing production ready print and graphic artwork. 
  • Correspond with overseas factories regarding development, production, and costings. 
  • Delegate and organize tasks to Associates, Assistants, and Interns based on priority.
  • May be responsible for managing a direct report, evaluating performance, and overseeing growth. 

Job Requirements & Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years of experience in fashion or intimate apparel.
  • Fashion degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, & Microsoft Excel.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be passionate about fashion and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and availability to travel overseas when necessary.
