Job description

Food Service Coordinator
This position is responsible for preparing nutritious food, including cooking and baking, serving,
cleaning up, and planning all meals.
Essential Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet each requirement. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for
the position.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Food service experience preferred
  • A knowledge of good dietary practices
  • Ability to prepare food, including salads, and work with portion control
  • Ability to operate industrial dishwashers, mixers, ovens, other related school kitchen equipment, appliances, and utensils
  • Ability to supervise student helpers who work in the kitchen/cafeteria
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, staff
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for basic preparation of food in a safe manner
  • Prepare and serve food
  • Assist in the setup of serving areas
  • Assist in the serving of food making sure supplies of food and beverages are maintained and spills are cleaned up
  • Responsible for the proper storage of food and supplies
  • Responsible for daily cleaning and storage of equipment and dishes
  • Responsible for following standards of efficiency and sanitation set by the Health Department
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of food and equipment
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
  • Participate in in-service training as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Licenses/Registrations/Testing
  • Must possess a valid Food Handlers Certificate (OAR 333.175.000)
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
  • Valid First Aid card may be required
  • Pre-employment drug testing
Pay Rate
  • $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
