Job description


Directs and coordinates activities concerned with air compressor, installations, and service operations for the Tampa Branch by performing the following duties personally or through service technicians.
Essential Job Functions
- Schedule service technicians daily in an efficient manner; including scheduling/performing all periodic maintenance agreements
- Respond to incoming service-related calls and handle external customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare quotations of all service related projects and follow up on a weekly basis. Projects include emergency calls, scheduled service calls, and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Perform all daily invoicing and manage the work in progress (WIP) report on a daily basis for air, installs, and CNG
- Ensure all Tampa branch service technicians have what they need to perform their jobs on schedule by working closely with the parts department to make sure all parts are on hand for service jobs
- Input service data in business operating systems
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and department goals
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the ACF's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:
  • interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • planning, assigning, and directing work
  • monitoring labor hours and managing time off benefits; approving time off and timecards in HR system (Paylocity)
  • reporting safety/accident incidents and working with HR to comply with proper handling
  • appraising performance; rewarding and taking corrective action when appropriate
  • addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching direct reports

- Maintain effective productivity and grow the service department business by meeting and exceeding department goals
- Promote a positive ACF culture by representing the company values of honesty, integrity, respect, and responsibility and encouraging synergy among all team members.
Additional Job Functions
- Collaborate with parts department manager to foster a congenial team environment
- Utilize HR department as a resource to aid with employee relations, recruiting, safety, and career development to encourage retention and avoid employer liability
- May be required to conduct out of town business or attend training
- Evaluate and reestablish yearly work goals
Experience and Skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)
- Computer literacy is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel) and database business systems
- Incorporate time management skills on a continuous basis
- Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
- Must be able to handle high pressure situations and adapt well to organizational and market changes
- Leadership skills are essential. Individual must be able to oversee an hourly technical workforce (including remote employees)
- Must excel at hiring, developing, training, coaching, leading and motivating a diverse workforce for optimal results
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to perform work that exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and sit for extended periods of time
- Job functions will require frequent talking, walking, standing, and hearing
- Must have visual acuity to perform work on a computer, to inspect/utilize equipment, manage data, and operate forklift vehicles
- Ability to perform functions during occasional bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, feeling, climbing, balancing, lifting, kneeling, pushing, pulling and finger activities; Required to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as applicable
- Must be able to work while being exposed to non-climate controlled environments, moving parts, driving, and loud noise levels
- Ability to travel locally and long distance as needed
Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)
- Bachelor's degree, or minimum of 5 - 7 years of service and management experience (industrial experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
