Overview

As a DevOps Engineer you are critical to our Salesforce Development teams’ success! This team includes Product Owners, Engineers and QA. You are responsible for Implementing and Owning the Salesforce DevOps process. The engineer works to improve developer productivity and delivery speed by enabling developers to be more self-sufficient and automating operations processes. As part of this role, you will also serve as the Salesforce Environment and Release manager. This will include being responsible for monitoring and analyzing the production pipeline as well as ensuring that the quality and integrity of releases are maintained. To be successful in this role you must have in-depth knowledge of SFDC DevOps best practices and Tool offerings to ensure scalable solutions are designed and implemented. In addition, you must be a great team player with excellent communication skills. Like the industry and SFDC, we move fast!


Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute and oversee Salesforce releases with multiple delivery teams delivering on same Salesforce org.
  • Manage proper tracking of released components in version control.
  • Own and continually improve the release process by documenting release issues and developing plans to improve process or automation.
  • Prepare and execute optimal Sandbox strategy for parallel projects that execute on different timelines.
  • Prepare release notes and communicate release status to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Work closely with development teams to resolve build problems and merge conflicts.
  • Responsible for maintaining consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments, from Development through QA, SIT/Staging and Production.
  • Provide feedback to Leadership regarding status of work and any roadblocks encountered along the way.
  • Support deployments and resolve deployment issues.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and latest SFDC offerings and development best practices as it relates to the DevOps process.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science, MIS or related technology field
  • 2-3 years of experience with the 3 DevOps Areas; Code and Configuration Management, Environment Management and Release and Deployment Management.
  • Minimum three years of experience with Salesforce Platform with core development and deployment experience.
  • Experience in the CRM domain; understanding of overall SFDC architecture and working knowledge of SFDC integration approach, architecture and release management.
  • Experience with any of the major Salesforce Release tools: Copado, Flosum, Gearset, etc.
  • Experience with CICD pipeline management through Jenkins, GitLab, etc.
  • At least 2-3 year of experience with Version control systems and deployments
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce security model
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, specifically Agile.
  • Experience working as part of an Agile SDLC team, familiarity with Agile software development principles and concepts, working in a collaborative, iterative process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of associates across various business units.
  • Creative solutions-oriented mindset and innovator.
  • High energy self-starter; must be flexible and able to take the initiative with minimal guidance.
  • Experience in delivering SaaS products preferred.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $93,590-$147,070 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
